External morphology of the ear canker (Otodectes cyanotis), the causative agent of otedectic mange in dogs and cats was studied under a scanning electron microscope. This study confirms previous light level observations of structure and life cycle of this mite, and in addition, revealed a detailed surface morphology undiscernible with light microscopy. Sexual dimorphism and differences in exoskeleton morphology were detected between the adult males and females.
