Abstract
- This article analyzes the survival of "bufo" (farcical or comic) theater dramatic mechanisms in Miami television programming, specifically on channel América TV. It discusses the stereotype of the "repartero" as a part of the popular culture in Cuba after the Cold War, and his representation in Miami cultural production. Additionally, the essay examines the gender imaginary associated with political satire and the re-significations emanating from popular music in the context of humorous parodies pertaining to diplomatic negotiations between the governments of Cuba and the United States. /
El presente artículo analiza la pervivencia de los mecanismos dramáticos del teatro "bufo" en la televisión de Miami, concretamente en el canal América TV. Se caracteriza el estereotipo del “repartero” como parte de la cultura popular en Cuba posterior al fin de la Guerra Fría y su representación en la producción cultural miamense. Por otro lado, este ensayo examina los imaginarios de género asociados a la sátira política y las re-significaciones procedentes de la música popular en el contexto de las parodias humorísticas de las negociaciones diplomáticas entre los gobiernos de Cuba y de los Estados Unidos.
